Civillery : Detailed Examination of The Bridge

Civillery Zone, Detailed examination conducted to determine the condition of the bridge and its elements to prepare response strategies for each individual bridge and make the bridge priority order according to the type of treatment. Detailed examination held at least once every five years or a shorter time interval depends on the condition of the bridge. Detailed examination was also performed after the rehabilitation work carried out or repair work of the bridge, in order to record new data, to register into the database and record in detail the examination format. Inspection records details of all significant damage to the bridge elements, and is characterized by the value of the conditions for each element, the bridge elements and major components. State value for the overall bridge conditions obtained from the value of each element of the bridge.

The damage must be recorded for bridge steel frame that will greatly determine the method of reinforcement is :

Damage of Concrete

  • Concrete chipped
  • Formed beehive 
  • Corrosion of steel reinforcement 
  • Dirty, mossy, aging or weathering of concrete 
  • Rupture or loss of material 
  • Deflection
Damage of Steel

  • Deterioration of paint and galvanized
  • Rust 
  • Changes on component form 
  • Crack
  • Rupture or loss of material 
  • Elements that are not true 
  • Cable bridge wear 
  • Loose connection
Damage of foundation / Placement

  • Insufficient space to move
  • Position grounding is not perfect 
  • Mortar base crack or fall out 
  • Displacement or excessive deformation 
  • Foundation disabilities (broken, torn or cracked) 
  • Loose parts 
  • Lack of lubrication on the base metal
 Damage on Connection

  • Damage to the floor connections were not as high
  • Damage caused by charged connection
  • Loose parts 
  • The missing part 
  • Cracks on asphalt due to movement on the connection
Damage of Drainage Pipe
  • Stream and drainage pipes clogged floor
  • Element is missing or does not exist
  • Damage of Surface Coating
  • Slippery surfaces
  • Rough surfaces / potholes and cracks on surface coatings
  • Corrugated surface Coating
  • Surface coatings of excess

  • Surfaces slippery sidewalks
  • Holes / cracks / rough on pavement

Damage of utility
